Social Media & Marketing Assistant - Fall 2022 - Work Study or Regular Pay

Hours Per Week : 10-15
Start: Fall 2022 (summer hours may also be available)
This position will work in-person in the Career Services office

Position Summary:
The Social Media & Marketing Assistant will assist with a variety of projects including:

Social Media
1.     Develop a social media plan for Career Services to promote the department and career-related events
2.     Create marketing content for social media channels, including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn & YouTube
3.     Monitor and maintain the Career Services social media accounts
4.     Monitor social media analytics to determine campaign effectiveness

Marketing
1.     Create marketing content for promotional emails
2.     Design graphics for marketing purposes including flyers, digital signage, the website and more.
3.     Assist with maintaining the Career Services website using the Ingeniux content management system
5.     Participate in campus tabling events and plan independent tabling activities to promote the department’s events and services
6.     Assist with planning and hosting Career Services in-person and/or virtual events including, but not limited to, career fairs, “Resume Doctor” sessions, “Career Week” events, and more
7.     Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:
·       Strong written and verbal communication skills
·       Experience with graphic design helpful (Canva or Adobe Creative Suite programs is a plus)
·       Experience with managing a company or organization’s social media presence is not required, but is a plus
·       Skills in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher) and Google Suite (Drive, Docs, Sheets, Slides)
·       Experience with video creation and editing helpful
·       Experience with Handshake helpful
·       Willingness to learn new technology
·       Must be a registered UW-Whitewater undergraduate student and maintain at least half-time student status.
·       Have a minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA
